Leadership
After more than 15 years of caring for patients with complex wounds, much of that time in skilled nursing facilities, I had a very clear idea of the kind of wound care company I wanted to build.
I founded Crescent Wound Care (CWC) because I believe clinical decisions should be made for one reason: because they are right for the patient.
Wound care should not be driven by procedure counts, volume targets, or corporate expectations. A debridement should be performed because a wound needs to be debrided. A treatment plan should change because the patient’s condition calls for it. The physician at the bedside should have the freedom to make that decision based on clinical judgment.
I also wanted physicians to remain directly involved in the care of our residents.
Nurse practitioners and physician assistants have important roles throughout healthcare, and I have great respect for the work they do. Crescent Wound Care, however, was intentionally built around a physician-led model. Our physicians go into the facility, examine the patient themselves, follow the wound over time, work with the nursing team, and remain accountable for the clinical decisions they make.
When I was thinking about what Crescent Wound Care should become, I kept coming back to a very simple question:
If my own mother or father were living in a skilled nursing facility with a serious wound, what kind of care would I want for them?
I would want an experienced physician at the bedside. I would want someone who takes the time to look at the whole patient, not just the wound. I would want the treatment to be based on what that individual patient actually needs. And I would want that physician to remain involved if the wound became difficult or something did not go as planned.
That is the standard I believe every resident deserves.
Crescent Wound Care was built by physicians around that principle. We have grown, added physicians, expanded into new communities and extended our services into other care settings, but I never want us to lose the reason we started.
We are here to practice good medicine.
For us, quality of care comes before volume. Clinical judgment comes before corporate targets. And every resident should receive the same level of attention we would expect for someone in our own family.
That is the culture we are building at Crescent Wound Care, and it is the standard I expect us to protect as we grow.

Ahmad Khan leads Crescent’s marketing and business development efforts, working with Skilled Nursing operators, facility leadership, healthcare organizations, and prospective partners as Crescent expands into new markets. He also works closely with organizations interested in learning more about Crescent’s services, coverage, and partnership opportunities.
Raashi Jain
Operations Manager
Raashi oversees Crescent’s day-to-day operational coordination across facilities, physicians, and internal teams. She helps manage physician scheduling and coverage, new facility onboarding, service coordination, contracts, operational communication, and facility support across Crescent’s network.
